About Dr. Rena Pazienza

I’m Dr. Rena Pazienza, a licensed psychologist with over 9 years of experience providing evidence-based practices to support mental health in adults across the lifespan (18+).

  • My clients describe me as warm, empathic, collaborative, and strengths-based. I aim to provide a balance of support and challenge to help you meet your goals.

    As an integrative therapist, I pull from different waves of cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, and acceptance-based therapies. I use relational and skills-based approaches tailored to the individual, with consideration to culture and context.

    Together, we will work towards change. Treatment will be collaborative in nature and tailored to meet your needs.

    I have trained across varied clinical settings, including:

    • College counseling

    • Community mental health

    • Veterans Health Administration Medical Center

    • Inpatient unit at psychiatric hospital

    • Inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation center

    • CBT-focused Intensive outpatient treatment program (IOP)

    Much of my career to date has been dedicated to community mental health. Following my role as a therapist in a community mental health center, I spent six years working as a psychiatric clinician and supervisor with a mobile crisis assessment team. In addition to clinical work, I’ve spent recent years engaged in clinical research and consulting.

    I have specialized training and experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

  • Outside of work, I love to travel and to do all things outdoors. I enjoy hiking, biking, running, and connecting with nature. I also enjoy reading, painting, and going on adventures - and even better, doing all of the above with friends and family.
